WEST KELOWNA–RCMP say a driver involved in a single vehicle crash on Bartley Road may have been impaired.

Police responded to the crash at 2:35 Thursday afternoon.

A blue 1993 GMC pick-up turck was driven off the road, and through a chain link fence before coming to rest in a ditch near the intersection of Ross Road.

The jaws of life were used to remove the driver from the vehicle.

Investigators at the scene detained the driver who exhibited signs of suspected alcohol intoxication.

A demand for a blood sample was made by RCMP as the driver was transported to hospital, with what police believe to be serious but non-life threatening injuries.
