Toddler killed in collision involving truck on northern Ontario First Nation

KITCHENUHMAYKOOSIB INNINUWUG, Ont. — Provincial police are investigating after a toddler died in a collision on a First Nation about 600 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, Ont.

Police say a truck hit a pedestrian at about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (Big Trout Lake).

They say a two-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The OPP critical incident stress response and provincial liaison team will be providing support to the community and responders.
