Fit or fat? Critics defend Leisel Jones after Australian media question her weight

TORONTO – Critics are blasting Australian media after various newspapers and television news stations across the country suggested Olympic gold medalist swimmer, Leisel Jones, was out of shape.

Melbourne-based Herald Sun reportedly suggested that the three-time gold medalist did not quite fill out her swimsuit as well as she did in previous Games and allegedly asked its readers whether Jones was fit enough to swim and compete in London. Outrage from readers caused the paper to remove the poll within a matter of hours.
