WINNIPEG — A Winnipeg chef is making tacos to help people affected by the Fort McMurray wildfires.

Eraj Jayawickreme created a Fort Mac taco after hearing about the damage in Alberta. The tacos will be filled with Manitoba pickerel topped with chipotle spiced cabbage slaw, roasted peppers and avocado drizzle.

He will will be making the tacos at Fairmont Winnipeg from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and serving them for donations at the hotel back door.

All proceeds from the taco event will go directly to Red Cross for Fort McMurray victims.
