Laval water main break causes flooding, evacuations

LAVAL – Residents in the Vimont sector of Laval are being asked to boil their tap water after a water main break forced the evacuation of 35 homes.

According to police, a 16-inch pipe burst during construction work on Bédard Street, near the A-440 and des Laurentides Boulevard.

About 75 residents were forced from their homes overnight due to the flooding.

A number of houses and cars were damaged.

Drivers are also unable to get to the access ramp heading north from des Laurentides Boulevard.
