CALGARY – Global News has learned the identity of one of five men who died in a house fire in Falconridge over the weekend.

Sources confirm 47-year-old Gurcharan Panesar is originally from India. A funeral service for Panesar will be held on Saturday at the Calgary Crematorium Chapel.

The blaze broke out in the 100 block of Falchurch Crescent N.E. at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames which were spreading to neighbouring property.

Once the fire was extinguished, crews entered the home to find the men’s bodies.
