Man struck by vehicle in Saskatoon dies from injuries

SASKATOON – A man who was struck by a vehicle while crossing a Saskatoon intersection has died from his injuries. The crash happened Wednesday afternoon in the Sutherland neighbourhood.

Police say the 78-year-old man was crossing Central Avenue at 109th Street on a motorized medi-chair when he was hit by a northbound vehicle.

He was taken to hospital with what were described at the time as non-life threatening injuries, however his condition worsened. His name has not been released.

A 33-year-old woman was charged at the time with failing to yield.

Police continue to investigate.
