Calgary police are investigating after reports that tenants left an elderly woman suffering brain damage alone in a rental home for two days.
Landlords Sandy and Tony Ert said they found the 69-year-old woman in the northeast home Monday, frightened and upset.

Their son, Joseph, said the Erts are now cleaning up the room and removing garbage. He said leaving a distressed family member alone was “more upsetting” than the rent owed or cleaning costs.
Sandy Ert said the tenants—two women—had recently been served an eviction notice after they were behind in rent payments.
