Police say a 68-year-old woman has been killed after an SUV crashed into a dance studio in Toronto’s east end.

Const. Clint Stibbe said the woman was inside Bold Steps Dance Studio on Spruce Hill Road near Queen Street when the vehicle slammed through the front of the business just before 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Paramedics said two other women inside were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Stibbe said the 68-year-old was declared dead in hospital.

He said the SUV was possibly backing into a parking spot when the incident occurred.

Stibbe said the driver remained at the scene.

The collision reconstruction squad is investigating and police are asking any witnesses to contact them.
