WINNIPEG — A house fire raged at the intersection of Manitoba Avenue and McNichol St. on Saturday afternoon.
Thick, black plumes of smoke could be seen rising from the two-storey home from kilometres away when the fire started shortly after 11:30 A.M. A transit bus driver reportedly called it in when passing by while driving a route on Burrows Ave.

The fire was soon brought under control by firefighters. All residents escaped from the burning home. Nine occupants inside the home escaped, while one was taken to hospital in stable in condition.
