Fire crews were called in to battle a wildfire near the Fort McMurray suburb of Timberlea early Friday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
They said firefighters were called to the scene at North Parsons Creek at 4:47 p.m.
As of 9:30 p.m. the fire was under control and no homes were at risk.
No injuries were reported and it isn’t known what sparked the blaze.
