REGINA – Grow up, get real, put on your big boy pants, and for goodness sake pick up your crayons… literally because adult colouring books are drawing in more attention than ever.
This craze does not involve Crayolas however, these are serious colourers and they’ll be the first to admit that they don’t always stay inside of the lines.
Radomski and sweetheart Carrie Wong are both artists based in B.C. who have drawn blank landscapes just waiting to be colored in.
Their two books also include artists from around Canada.
“Legendary Landscapes” is full of Canadian landscapes, and “Legendary Worlds” takes a fantasy twist, including giant mushrooms and unicorns.
The couple is currently on a book tour, travelling across Canada spreading the word of adult coloring books.

Some members of the general public may question adults who take part in childlike activities, so we asked registered psychologist Joanne Frederick,
“Coloring has always been seen as an activity for children”
Frederick says it is indeed a positive therapeutic source.
“I can see where they would be helpful to bring a sense of calm,” she said.
Radomski admits he wasn’t always so keen.
In fact, adult colouring books have become so popular that some places like Germany and even Edmonton, Alta. have reported pencil crayon shortages within the last year.
One spectator at the book tour said she started colouring a year ago.
“I was in Australia last year and that’s the first time I ever saw an adult colouring book, so I bought it and I started colouring.”
Experts say colouring books are great for children’s motor skills, seniors memory, and overall just to pass the time.
“Legendary Landscapes” and “Legendary Worlds” like many adult books are very detailed and require extra attention versus children’s books.
Frederick says it could be a great way for those who suffer from anxiety to focus their mind on one event, thus relieving the over active brain.
