UPDATE: The span has been re-opened to traffic a few hours early Monday morning. It’s now open to one lane in each direction.
TransLink has a warning for anyone who relies on the Pattullo Bridge for their commute.
The span will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight until Monday morning at 5 a.m.
Crews will be setting up to begin deck repairs over the next few months.

Once the bridge re-opens on Monday, it will only have one lane operating in each direction until Sept.30.
In addition, the Pattullo Bridge will be closed to all traffic two nights a week and one weekend a month to give crews additional time and space to get work done as quickly as possible.
TransLink says it expects increased congestion and warns that those lane closures will likely add 40 minutes to your weekday commute.
Cyclists and pedestrians will have access to the bridge at all times.
The bridge will also be closed from the evening of Sept. 30 to the morning of Oct. 3 for crews to remove equipment.
TransLink says the revised bridge rehabilitation program and repairs will extend the life of the bridge until a replacement is built.
A replacement bridge could take five to seven years to build, according to TransLink.
