WINNIPEG- Police have charged a 16-year-old boy with mischief after the flight crew says a laser pointer was aimed into the cockpit of Air1.
The police helicopter was over Salter and Selkirk avenue Wednesday when the crew was ‘struck by a laser’ at least five times. In a news release police said the “green laser filled the cockpit with refracted light” which caused the “flight crew to become temporarily disoriented requiring the pilot to make abrupt manoeuvres.”
A ground patrol investigated and arrested and charged a 16-year old boy with mischief-endangering life, Project light source into navigable airspace.
