Translink reverses decision on Taxisaver program

Following outrage from the public, TransLink’s board have reversed their decision to cut the Taxi Saver program.

They originally announced they were putting the $1.1 million into enhancing its HandyDart service, but customers of the Saver program were upset.

On Wednesday, the board acknowledged they had not adequately consulted the public about their decision.

The Taxi Saver program means that anyone who is a registered HandyDart user can call a taxi and use pre-brought coupons to receive a 50-per-cent discount on the fare.
