The body of a Toronto-area woman has been recovered from a lake north of Peterborough after she and another man died when their canoe capsized earlier this month.

Ontario Provincial Police said a marine unit found 28-year-old Angel Villeneuve-Steadman, of Halton Hills, in Pigeon Lake on Saturday morning.

Police said Villeneuve-Steadman, Spencer Dunn and a third person headed out on the lake April 3 to retrieve a pedal boat when their canoe capsized.

The third canoeist made it back to shore but Villeneuve-Steadman and Dunn, a 23-year-old Toronto resident, did not. His body was found three days later.

OPP said none of the three were wearing life jackets.
