Blair French appears in Saskatoon court for second-degree murder

SASKATOON – A 28-year-old man made his first court appearance Friday connected to the death of a 24-year-old man. Blair Christopher French is charged with second-degree murder.

Supporters of the victim left the courthouse in tears after the charge was read.

On March 30, police were called to an apartment building the 100-block of Avenue O South. They found the injured man who was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died the next day.

It was Saskatoon’s third homicide of 2016, according to police.

More than two weeks later, French was arrested April 14 around 11:30 a.m. CT.

He has been remanded into custody until his next scheduled court appearance on April 28.
