Black Keys’ frontman Dan Auerbach says he lost sleep after inducting an openly ungrateful Steve Miller into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week, telling Rolling Stone magazine Wednesday he “hated the feeling in my gut of being connected to that negativity.”
Miller blasted the rock hall and the music industry during the April 8 induction ceremony and in press interviews afterward.

Miller called the music industry “f–kin’ gangsters and crooks” and blasted his record label rep, saying “I wanted to pull him by his necktie and kick him in the nuts.” He didn’t mince words about the Hall of Fame itself, calling everyone involved “kind of a dick and an asshole.”
While many people on social media have applauded the 72-year-old rocker’s candour, Auerbach, who grew up a huge Miller fan, sees it differently.
Auerbach told Rolling Stone he and bandmate Pat Carney were personally disappointed in Miller and regret participating in the ceremony. A spokeswoman for the band confirmed the comments.

The group left Barclays Center halfway through Miller’s performance and never returned.
“There’s a time and place to stand up and be angry,” Auerbach told the magazine. “But when people are honouring you for how great you are, that’s not the f–king time or place… And I hated being a part of that.”
