Victoria Royals take series lead against Kelowna Rockets

The Victoria Royals beat the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 on Saturday night in Victoria.

The win gives the Royals a 2-0 series lead in their Western Hockey League playoff series.

The Rockets trailed 3-1 in the third period when Justin Kirkland scored off the faceoff to bring Kelowna within one.

A puck that bounced off Tyson Baillie’s skate made its way into the Royals net, but the goal was disallowed.

The series now shifts to Kelowna for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Thursday.
