Once on the highway, the vehicle began travelling very fast westbound in the eastbound lane. Police said they ended the pursuit for safety reasons.
The vehicle was found a short time later at a gas station in Vanscoy. With the help of the Saskatoon police canine unit a 28-year-old man was taken into custody along with a 29-year-old woman.
The vehicle, which was still occupied, sped away for a second time but was found again a few blocks away. A second police dog was brought in and began a search which led to a 21-year-old woman and two other men being apprehended.
The two men, ages 26 and 31, were injured by police dog bites and taken to hospital.
The 26-year-old man was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of statutory release while the 21-year-old woman was arrested for breaching probation.
Police say further charges are pending.
