Teenager found dead believed to have been struck by train: police

SASKATOON – Police are investigating the sudden death of a teenager in Saskatoon on Saturday. At 3:19 p.m. CT, a call was received from CN Rail staff about an unresponsive male on the railroad tracks.

Emergency services responded and located a deceased 16-year-old boy in the CN train yards beside Chappell Drive.

Police said the victim is believed to have been struck by a train. An autopsy is forthcoming.

The teen has been identified but family do not wish to have his name released at this time.

Members of the police’s major crime unit and the office of the chief coroner are investigating the non-suspicious death along with the assistance of the Canadian National Police Service.
