CALGARY – Large trees were being cut down in front of city hall Sunday morning. Ward 7 Councillor Druh Farrell tweeted about the trees, explaining that the trees were responsible for damaging the sandstone on the historic city hall building.
According to Farrell, the spruce trees were shading the sandstone and preventing it from drying out.
Farrell tweeted that the trees were too close to the building and it will cost more than $20 million to repair the sandstone.
