WATCH: SNL highlights NYC ‘native’ Hillary Clinton’s struggles to use subway pass

Saturday Night Live mocked Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton’s attempt to appeal New Yorkers before the state’s primary on April 19.

After a sting of primary losses to rival Bernie Sanders – counted by the seven holes punched into her wall – Clinton, played by SNL cast member Kate McKinnon, showcased her “strong” roots in New York City in a mock political ad.

First she donned her New York Yankees baseball cap with the $1.99 price sticker still on it, then avoided eating the city’s most famous delicacy: a street hotdog.

SNL referenced Clinton’s political fumble this week when she had difficulty using her pass to enter a New York Subway station.

In the skit, Clinton continuously attempts to enter the subway station, even trying to jump the barricade, before giving up and stating that she’ll just take a cab.

She then asks her supporters in New York to get out and vote before telling young New Yorkers, “voting’s for nerds. I mean, who cares, just sleep in.”
