MONTREAL – A police officer was injured and 14 people arrested early today at the scene of a brawl in Montreal North.
Police were called just after midnight to a confrontation involving as many as 20 people near a commercial building (at Henri Bourassa and Drapeau).
Const. Simon Delorme says police determined that an illegal gathering was taking place in the basement of the building.
When officers moved in to make arrests, a 36-year-old female officer suffered a head injury when she tried to contain one of the suspects.
The officer was treated and released from hospital.
The suspects, aged between 16 and 20, are scheduled to appear in court today.
