CALGARY – Police are looking to the public for help as they investigate a shooting that took place in the community of Kingsland earlier this week.

Officers were called to the 700 block of 67 Avenue S.W. at around 11:55 p.m. on Monday after gunfire broke the window of a condo unit.

No one was injured.

On Friday, police released a public appeal looking for assistance identifying two men who may have witnessed the shooting. One is described as wearing a red or orange jacket or winter coat with fur along the hood and a hat.

After the shooting, it’s believed the men travelled on foot southbound on 5 Street S.W. before entering an alley between 67 Avenue and 68 Avenue S.W.

“These men are not believed to be involved in the incident,” police said in a news release.

Police are also searching for more details on two darker-coloured vehicles seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed: one travelled eastbound on 67 Avenue S.W. onto southbound Macleod Trail, while the second travelled westbound on 67 Avenue S.W. gaining access to eastbound Glenmore Trail from the Phil’s Restaurant parking lot.

Although police initially reported a blood trail had been found at the scene, investigators said Friday it had since been determined that was not the case, and no blood was found on scene.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Calgary police or contact Crime Stoppers.
