SASKATOON – From day one, Saskatchewan Rush owner Bruce Urban was confident that his team would thrive in Saskatoon. He believed in the product, and he was sure that the Saskatchewan sports community would embrace pro lacrosse.

“I would not be surprised if our attendance is averaging in the 11-thousand area,” said Urban back in July, during his first press conference in Saskatoon.

After eight home games in Saskatoon, Urban’s prediction is pretty much bang on. The Rush are averaging 11,326 per home game, which ranks third in the NLL behind Buffalo and Colorado. Saskatchewan’s attendance numbers have been trending upwards all season, and last Saturday, the Rush reached a major milestone by selling out SaskTel Centre against the Calgary Roughnecks.

It won’t be long before Saskatchewan records its second sell-out according to Saskatchewan Rush sales manager Drew Strelau. The final Rush home game of the regular season is on April 16, and Strelau is confident that they will sell every seat in SaskTel Centre for the second consecutive home game.

“Sitting here ten days out, we’re projecting a quick sell-out,” said Strelau, who went on to say that 12,500 tickets had already been sold by Tuesday afternoon.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

By winning their sixth game in a row last Saturday, the Rush guaranteed themselves a home playoff appearance. If you want to get your hands on Rush playoff tickets, there are three ways to do so.

  1. Existing season ticket holders will get first dibs on playoff tickets, and will have from April 4 – 9 to purchase their seats. Season ticket holders will also have the chance to purchase up to two extra playoff tickets per season ticket.
  2. Starting on April 11, fans will have the chance to buy season tickets for the 2017 campaign. By doing so, you will have the option to purchase 2016 Rush playoff tickets prior to the general public.
  3. April 16 – 2016 playoff tickets go on sale to general public.

Strelau anticipates that half of the seats in the arena will be sold prior to start of the public ticket sale window. When the rest of the tickets go on sale on April 16, Strelau believes it will only take the Rush three or four days to sell out the rest of the arena.

“It’s going to be incredible, and they’re going to go fast.”

The Rush will play their final home game of the regular season on April 16 against Colorado Mammoth.
