Lockdown at Lockview High School lifted, investigation continues

Nova Scotia RCMP are investigating a weapons complaint at a high school in Fall River, N.S.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. AT on Tuesday, police were called to Lockview High School after receiving a tip about a threat involving a weapon.

The Halifax Regional School Board confirms that the school immediately went into lockdown once the threat came in.

The lockdown lasted for about 45 minutes before police were able to determine there was no threat to the safety of the students or staff at the school.

The investigation into the weapons complaint is continuing.  Authorities have said they were looking for an individual in relation to the case, but confirm the person is not a student at Lockview High.

This was the second school to go into lockdown on Tuesday afternoon. Millwood High was also placed under lockdown following a weapons complaint.
