Centre Street Bridge
Wherever you are, look up, way up! Fireworks off the Centre Street bridge will light up the Calgary sky and cap off an amazing birthday party for our nation.
Road & pathway closures for fireworks
The following road and pathway closures will be in effect from from 8 p.m. July 1 to 1 a.m. July 2 to ensure the safe implementation of fireworks:
• Pathways from Prince’s Island Park to 4th St. SE and Sien Lok Park to 1st St. SE
• Centre Street Bridge
• Centre Street N from 3 Ave S to 7 Ave N
• Samis Rd. NE
• Memorial Drive south late from 3 St NW to 4 St NE

Canada Day 2012 Holiday Hours for City of Calgary Facilities
City Administrative Offices
All administrative offices will be closed on Monday, July 2, 2012 and will reopen on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on the statutory holiday, Monday, July 2.

Residential blue, black and green cart collection
Residential collection schedules for blue, black and green carts are not affected by the Canada Day holiday.

All City of Calgary landfills – East Calgary, Spyhill and Shepard – will be open from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Canada Day and the holiday Monday.

Join the fun at Fort Calgary on Canada Day! Enjoy a free pancake breakfast (9 – 11 AM), then hop over to the bouncing castles, pony rides, petting zoo and East Village antique car show! Groove to live music from the National Music Centre, while munching on fare from local food trucks for lunch. Admission to the family friendly outdoor activities is FREE, and indoor admission with be half price! A free shuttle will connect you with other great celebrations in the downtown area thanks to the City of Calgary.

The first 2012 guests through the gates before 10:30am will be treated to Heritage Park’s famous pancake breakfast served hot off the grill!
