EDMONTON – The Alberta Progressive Conservatives are challenging the NDP government to cut $4 billion in spending over two years. And PC Leader Ric McIver says the New Democrats should be able to achieve the savings without affecting front-line services.

McIver is also calling on the government to establish a debt repayment plan and to review all provincial assets.

He says any assets such as buildings that are obsolete or under used should be sold off.

McIver made the points as the PC caucus launched a plan to consult with Albertans about issues of concern.

Finance Minister Joe Ceci is to table the government’s budget on April 14.
