Cory Bitternose declared dangerous offender

A man who kidnapped, beat and sexually assaulted two women in Banff four years ago has been designated as a dangerous offender.

Cory Bitternose was sentenced to 20 years behind bars, but will only serve 14 with credit for time already served.

After he is released, Bitternose will be subject to community supervision.

He pled guilty in 2009, to two counts of kidnapping, assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats in connection to the attack against two women in Banff in 2008.

Bitternose has at least 20 years of violent offenses on his record.
