WINNIPEG – Workers who make Crown Royal have rejected an offer from their employer Diageo and will remain on strike.

UFCW Local 832 members voted 81 per cent in favour of rejecting the offer after hitting the picket lines on March 5th.

“Diageo made a final offer that was an improvement from what they gave us prior to the strike. With these improvements we presented them to the group and the membership voted it down,” wrote Jeff Traeger, president of UFCW Local 832, in a statement on their website.

The statement says the union will now wait to make an application to the Manitoba Labour Board for an independent arbitrator to be assigned to the dispute.
