UPDATE: Police charge second person in North Central homicide

REGINA – A 33-year-old Regina man has now been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Andre Aubertin in North Central Regina.

On March 29, Aubertin, 56, was found seriously injured in a house on the 1000 block of Princess Street and later died in hospital from his injuries.

On Wednesday, Elwin Goodpipe, 33, was charged with second-degree murder after a lengthy standoff on the 1100 block of McTavish Street. When the standoff ended Goodpipe and a 26-year-old woman were taken into custody.

Goodpipe made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.

In 2006, Goodpipe plead guilty to a manslaughter charge in connection with the 2004 murder of Regina resident Wayne Gerald Friday.

Earlier on Tuesday, 27-year-old Jerid Cole Azure from Fort Qu’Appelle was charged with second degree murder in connection with Aubertin’s death.
