Emergency department in Parrsboro closed this weekend

Due to a doctor shortage, the emergency department at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre in Parrsboro will be closed both Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The province’s health authority says there are not enough doctors to keep the unit open. Overnight, the ER will remain open as usual with a physican team, nurses and paramedics.

Anyone with an emergency is asked to contact 911.
