Convicted Sask. child pornographer facing new charges

SASKATOON – A Saskatchewan man who has been on parole after serving a lengthy prison term for possessing child pornography is back in custody, facing new charges. In 2012, Shane Dale Pattison was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to 53 child pornography related charges.

As a result of that investigation, four children were rescued in B.C. and the U.S.

Pattison was released from jail in September.

On Tuesday, police went to his home to make sure he was in compliance with his parole conditions.

Police found prohibited electronic devices and the 26-year-old was arrested.

He is now facing new charges of accessing, possessing and transmitting child porn. In addition, his parole has been revoked.

Pattison will be back in Saskatoon provincial court on April 1.
