A 21-year-old man is facing multiple charges in relation to a brazen daytime shooting at a busy Burnaby shopping centre last fall.
On Sept. 30, 2015, Burnaby police were on the scene of a shooting at the Old Orchard Shopping Centre at 6:30 p.m., while shocked bystanders looked on.
The victim was injured and taken to the hospital but was released the same day. With the help of the public, police officers were able to arrest one suspect at the scene while another suspect fled in a vehicle. Following the shooting, the Burnaby RCMP Serious Crime unit began an investigation.

On March 2 an arrest warrant was issued for a 21-year-old man. During the search, police found two guns, including a loaded assault-style rifle and a loaded nine millimetre handgun, and a large amount of ammunition and drugs.
The crime unit officers also identified another suspect.
Charged with robbery and multiple weapons offences are Brandon Vuong Nguyen and Ba Huy Tran. Both men are 21-years old and live in Burnaby and Surrey, respectively.
