Alberta men handed fines for trafficking eagle parts, illegal hunting

EDMONTON – Three men have been fined for illegal hunting in Alberta.

Nathan and William Tschetter of Fort McLeod have pleaded guilty to wildlife offences relating to the trafficking of eagle parts and big game antlers.

A judge fined William Tschetter $27,000 and banned him for life from possessing birds of prey or their parts.

Nathan Tschetter was fined $12,000 and received a 10-year ban.

Hunting guide Michel Blanchett of Cold Lake also pleaded guilty to wildlife offences for hunting without a licence, hunting using bait and failing to submit outfitter reports.

He was fined $16,500 and ordered to report all future hunting trips to wildlife officials.
