Summary: With former cabinet minister Erin Selby resigning last year, voters in Southdale will elect a new MP on April 19.

Boundaries: A large riding on the southeast edge Winnipeg, Southdale is bordered by the Seine River parkway to the west and Highway 1 to the north, with the exception of the Southland Park neighbourhood.

Last Election: Selby, one of the five MLAs who resigned from Selinger’s cabinet in 2014, defeated PC defeated Judy Eastman by over 700 votes, 52-45 per cent.

History: Prior to Selby’s victory in 2007, the area had been held by Jack Reimer, a PC MLA and occasional cabinet minister from 1990 to 2007.
