MONTREAL – If you’re single and looking for someone to have a laugh with, you might want to start looking at Leduc, Alta.

According to a poll by Elite Singles, the city, which is just south of Edmonton, is home to the funniest singles in the country — or at least the most confident in their ability to make others laugh.

“Laughing together is probably the best sign of a healthy relationship for a couple,” said EliteSingles psychologist Salama Marine.

“Humour and self-mockery definitely help to forge happy memories and the ability to make each other giggle with just a glance creates a strong friendship between two people.”

The study didn’t just cite large cities — for instance, singles in the small town of Île-Perrot, just off the western tip of Montreal, claimed Quebec’s title of funniest singles.
