EDMONTON — Police have charged two men with first-degree murder in the 2015 stabbing death of an Edmonton man.
On Friday, police said Billy Joe Nelson, 37, and Tyler Strathdee, 27, were charged in connection with Deng Mathew Garang Tong’s death.
At around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, police were called to the area of 102 Street and 107 Avenue where they found two men suffering from stab wounds.

A third man, later identified as Tong, was found at an apartment about a block away, also suffering from stab wounds.
Tong, 23, was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Nelson and Strathdee have also been charged with three counts each of attempted murder and aggravated assault in connection with the stabbings.
Both men are expected to appear in court on April 20.
Tong’s death was Edmonton’s third homicide of 2015.
