Mounties are investigating after a community peace officer was nearly struck by a marble that smashed through his vehicle’s window on March 11, 2016.
RCMP said the officer was enforcing the speed limit around 11 a.m. on Highway 16A near Nelson Drive west of Edmonton when the window was smashed.
Police said they are still investigating but the speed and force with which the marble broke the window leads them to believe it was intentionally launched at the officer’s vehicle.
They said they are taking the investigation very seriously as the marble narrowly missed the police officer and could have resulted in serious injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Stony Plain RCMP Detachment at 780-968-7267 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
