Home Depot hiring fair draws huge crowd of job seekers

CALGARY – It’s yet another sign of tough economic times in Alberta.

A huge line quickly grew at a Home Depot hiring fair in the northeast Calgary community of Marlborough on Wednesday.

The store’s doors opened at 4 p.m. and job seekers were told the company is looking to fill 975 hourly seasonal positions this spring.

The lineup of people looking for work snaked right through the length of the store.

Home Depot Canada has more than 400 career events scheduled across Canada.
