A student’s brilliant political – and vaguely Donald Trump-ish – answer to a Canadian geography question has become a viral sensation.
In a post titled “This is why I teach,” Reddit user Blahson posted an image of a seemingly simple question with a child’s long-winded answer using a tried-and-true politician’s trick of enthusiastic blather to cover up for not actually knowing the answer to a question.
The bonus question asked “What’s the capital of Canada?”

In fairness, plenty of non-Canadians don’t know the answer. But not many would answer like this:
“Of course I know the capital of Canada. It’s a great country. It’s really great. Everyone wants to know what the capital of Canada is. And do you know what I tell them? I tell them that we have a foolproof plan for naming the capital of Canada. And that’s why we’re going to be the best at naming the capital of Canada.”
Playing his Trump card, the student finishes the non-answer with the hashtag #MakeCanadaGreatAgain.”

The original Reddit post has nearly 2.4 million views and plenty of more honest answers from others admitting they don’t know the answer either.
But as one poster pointed out, “#makecanadagreatagain? I don’t think Canada has ever stopped being great!”
