Police say three people are dead and another is injured after an overnight shooting at HUB mall on the University of Alberta campus.
The EPS’s Tactical and Canine Units were called to the scene shortly after midnight, Friday.
The victims are believed to be employees of an armoured vehicle company following an apparent robbery.
Ravedh Seeberath was studying in the building at the time.
“I heard pop, pop, pop, about eight of them,” Seeberath says adding, “I saw about 30 tactical guys rushing towards me with a dog.”
Seeberath says there weren’t very many people in the building at the time.
“When I got there, there was just a few of us, safewalk, myself, a couple other residents.”
HUB mall was cleared and secured by police. Police say the shooter remains at large however, is not believed to be in HUB mall.
More than two dozen marked and unmarked police cars responded to the scene.
