Michelin Pictou County to ramp up production, offer over 70 temporary jobs

Michelin tire plant in Pictou County to ramp up production - bring on 70-90 temporary workers.

Michelin has announced a new tire project that will temporarily increase production at its Pictou County site.

The two-year project will see Michelin increase the number of winter tires it produces in response to consumer demand.

The plant will be making more X-ICE Xi2 tires, which the company says drivers want to keep up with challenging winter weather.

“Our Michelin Pictou County team welcomes the opportunity to build more tires for our customers in Canada, the U.S. and overseas.”

Michelin says 70 per cent of the new tires will stay in Canada, 30 per cent will be exported.
