Woman, 23, struck by vehicle on Saskatchewan highway dies

A woman was pronounced dead this past weekend after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 24 near Leoville, Sask. Google Maps

Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Sunday. At 1:40 a.m. CT, officers were called to a pedestrian collision around one kilometre south of Leoville on Highway 24.

The 23-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not releasing her name.

Initial investigation has determined she was in a separate vehicle that stopped on the highway. Spiritwood RCMP said the woman had exited the vehicle and entered the roadway where she was hit.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was released by police and no charges have been laid.

A traffic collision analyst was called to the scene to investigate.
