WINNIPEG — Canadians use passwords every day. We use them to log onto social media, access bank accounts, and to check emails.

However, we’re not always the smartest when it comes to creating them.

Every year, SplashData complies a list of the millions of stolen passwords made public throughout the last 12 months. They then sort them in order of popularity and release them to the public. This year, the results are based on a total of over 2-million leaked passwords.

“123456” and “password” top this year’s list. Also making the top 25 were sports-based passwords like “football” and “baseball”.
