Heavily armed police surrounded the business in an industrial area of Ingleburn, a suburb 40 kilometres west of Sydney.

Staffers at nearby businesses were told to stay inside and roads were blocked off in the area.

Police did not release any other details, including whether they believe the shooter was still inside the building or if they believed anyone else was inside the building.
