Six of the babies were moved from the old Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to the new NICU which has the capacity to support up to 20 babies.

Hospital staff say the move of the patients started at 8 a.m. and took about an hour. Many of the expectant moms are excited and happy with the new space.

The new ward has five private labour and delivery rooms and nine private and four semi-private postpartum rooms.
