Environment Canada has ended a freezing rain warning for Saskatoon and the surrounding area. A second band of freezing rain developed early Monday morning.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Environment Canada is advising motorists to prepare for changing road conditions, slick roads and reduced visibility at times.

The initial low pressure system was forecast to move from Alberta into northern areas of Saskatchewan Sunday night. An estimated 15 to 25 centimetres of snow is expected by Monday evening. Precipitation and snowfall warnings should taper off Monday evening.
