Manitoba Public Insurance says it already has 1,100 claims for hail damage to vehicles, suffered during severe thunderstorms in southern Manitoba over the weekend.
Severe thunderstorms lashed Winnipeg and southern Manitoba Saturday night. Some weather spotters reported seeing funnel clouds but Environment Canada says no tornadoes touched down.

Several people reported golf ball-sized hail, which in some cases left cars dented and pockmarked.
